Receiving Document Upload Failure Error
If a Document fails to upload to Blooma please ensure that the document falls within our list of accepted file types.
- .doc
- .xlsx
- .csv
- .jpg
- .png
- .xlsm
- .txt
Once you've ensured that the file type is not the issue, there are a few things we can try before contacting support. First, please attempt to do a "hard refresh" of the site. To do this you hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button. Or, Hold down Ctrl and press F5. Now you can attempt to upload your file again.
If your file has any protected workbooks or pages, Blooma may not have access to the data you're trying to upload. Be sure to remove any passwords or encryption from files that you would like to upload.
Note: Please ensure that the file type name is accurate. File type should be lowercase (.pdf not .PDF) and if you're having trouble uploading a ".xlsx" file, sometimes ".xls" files are uploaded more smoothly.
Sometimes an excel file can contain things like custom XML code that you may not be aware of. If an uploaded excel document contains custom XML, it will trigger our systems to reject it for security reasons. The steps taken to remove this (on PC) are as follows:
1. On the File tab, select Info.
2. Select the Check for Issues box and choose Inspect Document.
3. If you see Custom XML Data, click to remove
The success state should look as follows:
If none of the above workarounds have allowed you to successfully upload your document to Blooma, please contact Blooma Support to resolve the issue.
Changing Deal Address
Once you create a Deal in Blooma, there is no way to edit the Deal address. This is due to the fact that Blooma uses Deal Address to instantly pull valuable insights like market data and comparables. To change the Deal address in Blooma you have two options:
- Delete the Deal and create a new Deal with the desired address
- Add a Collateral to your existing Deal with the new address and delete the other Collateral with the old address
See our help article on Adding a New Collateral for more.
No Revenue Showing in Unit Mix Table
When there are no like unit types in the rental comp set, Blooma is unable to calculate revenue for the unit type. To remedy this issue you can Create a Manual Comparable with the missing unit type.
Loan Packages Not Sorting Properly
If loan packages are not sorting correctly by 'Package ID' it is recommended that you sort by 'Package Name' instead.
Unable To Select Description or Standardized Description From Dropdown
If you are unable to select a new description when standardizing line items in the Cash Flow section, it may be related to your zoom settings or screen size. It is recommended that you increase screen size, or zoom out and retry selecting new descriptions. If this doesn't solve the issue you can copy/paste the description name into the cell manually.
Search Bar Not Returning Desired Results
If you're searching for something in Blooma using the search bar, sometimes you will receive too many, or too few results. Knowing the Deal Name or Loan ID of your Deal will help return more accurate results. If you're still having trouble after searching the Deal Name or Loan ID, try putting your search in quotation marks. For example, if you're searching for a Deal with the name Shady Acres, then try entering "Shady Acres" into the search bar.
Deal Metrics Not Populating
If you're not seeing Deal metrics like LTV or DSCR populate in the Deal Page of your Deal there are a few things you can try. Firstly, make sure that you've entered the unit mix correctly and that your changes have been saved.
Next, if there's a specific metric you're having trouble with, check out our Glossary and make sure that you've entered the required data points in order for Blooma to do the calculations. For example, if you're not seeing the DSCR populate then you should make sure that NOI and Debt Service has been entered since the calculation for DSCR is Collateral DSCR → (NOI / Debt Service).
Where Do I Find My Cash Flows Once I've Uploaded
Once uploaded, your Cash Flows (or income statements) can be found in the Property Income Valuations section within the Deal Page.
